Gillette Factory Combined Heat and Power Feasibility Study
McLellan was commissioned to review the heat and power demands at the Gillette factory to determine whether the site was suitable for the installation of a CHP plant. The objective was to achieve a reduction in Gillette’s overall energy cost and so improve the economic operation of the plant.
Woking Town Centre Combined Heat and Power System
Thameswey Energy Ltd employed McLellan as client’s representative and engineer for the extension of the existing town centre CHP and district heating system. The project includes the design for addition of 3 MWe CHP plant in addition to the existing CHP station and the extension of the District Heating and Cooling and 11 KV power distribution scheme to the new art gallery.
University of Dundee CHP Concept Design, Feasibility, Engineering, Specification, Contracting, Erection and Commissioning
McLellan was engaged by the University of Dundee for the concept design, feasibility, engineering, specification, contracting, erection and commissioning of a 3-engine set gas engine combined heat and power plant (CHP) to serve the university buildings.
Hospital Energy Conservation
Lister hospital engaged McLellan to assess the most suitable prime mover and to perform an analysis of the various systems utilising site consumption data and a computer model. The optimum system was shown to be an engine producing 660 KWe with a boost fired boiler.
Power Station Waste Heat Recovery for District Heating
McLellan assessed the possibility of utilising waste heat recovery (WHR) from a 7 MWe power station to heat a swimming pool, school with community centre, hospital, and possibly some government offices within the Port Stanley area of Falkland Island.
